The owners & hosts of Clarke cottage were so friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we departed.

The breakfast was outstanding and not to be missed - Normally i don't eat breakfast but the poached eggs, Haggis & black pudding are a must. Made to feel very welcome and shall be sure to return.

Good value, great location near bus & train.

Hosts advised taking train to Edinburgh instead of trying to find a parking space. They were right, there wasn't any. They also advised what not to miss visiting.

Beautiful and relaxed guesthouse.

Very professionally run business putting their guests' needs first and at the centre of what they do. The rooms are incredibly well appointed to a very high standard that would surprise you.

Attention to detail is apparent even as far as having dual switches for the en suite lighting, one for the lights, the other for the lights and the extractor fan so there is no disturbance during the night. Each room has its own fridge with mineral water and wine glasses, iron and ironing board and plenty of wardrobe space. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the rooms benefit from no road noise.

The food is marvellous. The owners are very attentive, friendly, courteous and welcoming. We hear this often when reading reviews, but I have seldom been treated as such a valued customer at any other hotel or guesthouse in the UK. A gem of a place, ever so humbly presented, but punching and winning in the sort of bracket a first class hotel would aspire to.

Can't speak highly enough and I haven't even mentioned the incredible value for money. Would thoroughly recommend.

Ideal for a weekend trip (or longer), really close to the station

Decent sized twin room with everything one could need (plenty of storage for instance), I was impressed with the heating in the room (it came on really quick) would ensure comfortable trip in winter. Breakfast was great, in an airy conservatory with good views of the birds feeding outside! The owners were very welcoming and friendly

AMAZING GUEST HOUSE

A warm arrival after finding it was easy. When you come in having tea, hot choc and biscuits is always going to impress me. Very good hot shower, lots of storage, lovely warm radiator and comfy bed. With a sofa near the room and a guest lounge lots of choice to sit outside your room. The breakfast was cooked to order and was lush top quality food you could tell. With lots of choice and even a can fridge for your fizzy pop (honesty box) Next door almost is a pub and there is Asda and harvester up the road the other way. The owners are lovely to chat to and have time for you. Top up of the room is done when your out so coming back and able to get a brew on is Fab. Plus a fridge meant able to keep 1901 bru at the perfect temperature very important.

Convenient, friendly & excellent value for money

Super-friendly welcome...nothing too much trouble and that breakfast...oh my word...freshly cooked using locally sourced produce...the haggis was the best I’ve ever eaten.

Wonderful place to stay, will return

Just a heads up for anybody visiting using public transport. Dunfermline Town station is about half an hour's walk. Go to Dunfermline Queen Margaret - it's about five minutes away.

Very pleasant and accommodating hosts. Incredibly quiet which surprised me as it's on a fairly main road, but it is set back from the road. There was a fridge on my room which meant I could buy a few things for packed lunch at the nearby Asda and keep them fresh. The provided cooked breakfast was delicious with many items to choose from, as well as toast and fresh fruit. Bed was very comfy, bathroom was very clean, with a fabulous shower.

Lovely and warm on arrival, room had everything we needed.

Comfortable bed and good nights sleep, no road noise. On bus route into Dunfermline if you wanted to pop in for a drink, we were tired so went next door to the Elizabethan, where we had whale (haddock) and chips, huge piece of fish and thin crispy batter rather than thick batter and thin fish. Breakfast was great and staff lovely and took time out to have a friendly chat.

Lovely Dunfermline Base

First class friendly Guest House. I travel regularly thought the UK but look forward when visiting this accommodation. Third time in last 12 months and look forward to travelling to Dunfermline again.

Clean and tidy and always friendly. Near town centre with nice public house the Elizabethan next door. Lovely full breakfast and toast 10/10.
